Temperature controller using microprocessor 8088

pls am writing a seminar topic and project, and i have some couple of lists of topics i will likely pick from and will like to get details on each of them in order to make decision on any two.
concerning this first one, i will like to know how possible it is to design this temp controller with mp 8088, the materials needed for the design, guidelines , books or any source of information that will guide me in actualizing this.

The 8088 is a DINOSAUR ..
It is an artifact of the past ..

well that site is not of any help atall. thanks all the same . i wonder if i can get better sth from u. am actually suppose to present something that is microprocessor based or needs a program to run it . i know for sure that is possible to design a temp controller with microprocessor
