Any suggestion to design an on chip balun at 200MHz ?
Is there any disadvantage of using an active balun through a differential pair versus passive one ?
200 Mhz balun on silicon will probably be very huge. It believe
that using a differential pair would be more area efficient but it will be
also more noisy and much less linear (depending on the allowed current
consumption). Are you planing to do this differential to single-ended
conversion at the LNA mixer interface ?
on chip baluns(passive) can work at 2.4 GHz on 0.25 or 0.18 um, but they can be used only for small signal applications like LNA input. for high power applications like Power Amplifier off chip passive baluns is better due to their higher efficiency and price.
