Can we use 400-470MHZ SRD(Short Range Devices) in Long range application(for 5-50 Km)?

Is this a good way in term of quality and reliability?

I want to add a 7W power amp to output of ADF7021N from ADI as transmitter(only TX mode is used)

and use another ADF7021N from ADI at receive side(RX mode only)

Is there any problem?

Initially, I was going to say "no". But listening to this, it says the chip can do 3 km line of site without an external amp. So with an amp, 7 km should be possible. Of course, you have to worry about your local emissions regulations.

I don’t think you can get the link at 50 km using only 7W, but at approximately 15-20 km (line-of-sight) it will work. Even at LOS distance you need directional antennas, on both sides.
