Hi all, i want to know the operation of single electron transistor. As the name suggests it allows only one electron to pass through the channel at a time.If that is the case how can we increase current.
Secondly can anybody explain me the discreteness i.e. charge passing in multiples of e, in tunneling effect in case of SET.
Any literature would be helpful.
regards

As far as I know single electron means it senses the single electro, so it works with single electron. It doesn't mean that this doesn't work with more electrons.
