sensor for car park aid

hi, on the Internet are many schemes to find a car park aid equipped with (open) ultrasonic transducers.
Can I also use the closed type which is mounted in the bumper of a car?

Sure why not.
The closed ones typically have a lower sensitivity / spl, so the range is usually lower.
But you'll still get upto 3-4 mtrs with proper drive/ receive circuits, which should be more than enough.
