Dear All;

I have found several ic to function as USB / SATA Bridge Controller.
But I couldn't find any info about given ic/asic can send S.M.A.R.T ATA commands over USB side.

My SSD is connected to PC's USB port over USB/SATA converter board.
I can write and read data, but I also need to send SMART ATA commands.

Do you know any ic/asic for given purpose, or please let me know that there isn't any ic?

Regards.

Dear Tpetar;

Thanks for information.
But I don't want to read information from disk.
I need to write down information to disk.

For example, when you check S.M.A.R.T ATA Command set, there is SMART WRITE LOG which has command ID 0xB0.
I want to set 512 byte value to given address. There are many utilities that can check status of disk, but I couldn't find utilities that can set/write data to disk.

In linux, there is hdparm, but it is not capable to set data to SMART WRITE LOG sector of disk with command 0xB0.

If you knew any code/utility please let me know.

Regards.
