Hi everybody,
I am a beginner in Xilinx platform studio. I am working in spartan 3e fpga board. I want to transfer data from outside to FPGA. Is it possible to get data from rs 232 port. If it is possible then can anyone please tell that, how can I get data from hyperterminal to fpga board.
Any help is accepted. Thanks in advance.

yes, it's possible, you will need a level changer IC like max3232 to convert signal levels from rs232 levels to fpga levels. visit www.opencores.com to find uart projects.

I am using a Spartan 3E (Nexys 2) and I think it comes with ST3232. I want to connect it to a microcontroller (Atmega 16). So can I just connect the respective RxD TxD's and will this complete the connection?
