1. What advantages are offered by a three terminal regulator..
2. What is the difference between input(line) regulation and load regulation..
3. In what region of their characteristics curve are zener diodes operated??
4. How does the zener impedance affect the voltage across the terminal of the diode..

PLS.. HELP ME ANSWER THIS!!!!

2-line regulation is the variation of the output voltage with the input(supply) changing
load reulation is the variation of the output voltage with the load variation
3- i think reverse

Could u make it more clearer

2. What is the difference between input(line) regulation and load regulation..
The line refers to voltage and hence it indicates how well the O/P voltage is regulated ie kept at the desired value when the input changes.

The load refers to o/p resistance or current......in general regltr is an interfce between a supply and a load which requires const voltage.

3. In what region of their characteristics curve are zener diodes operated??
the reverse region as the voltage is a consatnt and it can sink in a lot of current (hence suited to bypass any increase)

4. How does the zener impedance affect the voltage across the terminal of the diode..

the Z of ZD is quite small in region opf oprn ideally zero...
The voltage as such is that which causes the beakdown and is per se a device characteristic.
