why in an output spectrum of a mixer (IF port),
the component (VRF-VLO) is greater in amplitude than the component (VRF+VLO)
Is it right or must be equal ?
well I mean, in terms of amplitude (not frequency), the addition of the two input frequencies ωRF+ωLO is lower than the difference ωRF-ωLO in a downconverter. Is this correct or both amplitudes should be similar ?
Theoretically, they should be the same. However, due the nature of the frequency response of the circuit, the difference frequency component is usually larger than the addition of the two frequency.
