hi i am designing a 10Gbps transimpedance amplifier. i know the that the output impedance when the circuit has a buffer should be 50 ohm. but the input is connected to photo-diode and there is no mention of input impedance and input matching of Tia in any paper or books about transimpedance amplifiers. and i asked several journal tia paper authors and no one answered yet .should input of high frequency TIA be matched and if it should be to what impedance ? and how much the matching should be ? (valid references would be helpful)

Surely survey.
There are many references.

For SNR, high impedance is preferable.
For BW, low impedance is preferable.

So tradeoff between noise and bandwidth.

Also you have to consider noise of TIA.
Here consider input equivalent noise current and noise voltage.

Anyway simple feedback resistance value decision.
That's all.
