I have designed Pyramidal horn using 2 methods

(c.a banalis)

  • f = 1.2 GHz λ = 25 cm
  • g=13 db
  • χ 0.7
  • a 19.56 cm
  • b 9.78 cm
  • pe 17.5
  • ph 24.3
  • a1 42.1 cm
  • b1 29.6 cm

i) as pe=ph to be physically reliable are these values acceptable
ii) how to calculate flare angles?

2nd method

Design and Testing of Pyramidal Horn MBR Murthy; M.Sudhakar; B. Lokeswara Rao* Professors, Department of ECE, CMR College of Enginnering & Technology, Hyderabad 501401, Telangana, India.

  • f = 1.2 GHz λ = 25 cm
  • g=11.5 db
  • a 19.56 cm
  • b 9.78 cm
  • r1 19.35
  • r2 18
  • re 8.76
  • rh 12.65
  • a1 38.1 cm
  • b1 29.63 cm

re=rh has very small difference in this calculation

iii) Also used adk cal. match nearly with 2nd method
iv) Is it necessary that flare angle are needed to be equal in h and e plane?

iv) i want to fabricate it but adk gives direct excitaion to wave guide i want to use connector Sma/ or N how to place them in hfss ?

vi) i want to scale down aperture lengths a1 and b1. how it can be done?
