I already used it by :

>> firmware on PWM module microcontroler ( MICROCHIP ).
>> specific IC ( UNITRODE ).
>> operational amplifier, implementing a sinusoidal wave by a Resistor array.

So, there are a lot of ways to perform it.
If you post the target application, we can sugest the wright - or best - solution.
