problem with "SIM900 Series download Tools Customer 1.7 tool"

Hi everyone,
can you explain different between download in option "embedded" and option "normal" when i using downloader tool 1.7.
And when i buy a new module sim 908.It was loaded core file?(file binary).
When I want to creat app.cla to embedded into module,I should have "embedded" mode

If the SIM 908 is interfaced with Microcontroller you need not use this tool at all...As the module itself will have the core file loaded already...

If the microcontroller usage is avoided and you are trying to load the "*.cla" file on the SIM908 itself then below is the given difference...

1) When option "NORMAL" is selected:

You are downloading only "*.cla"(your application file) file to the module considering to the fact that the SIM module has already its own core file(which is the default in most cases)...

2) When option "EMBEDDED" is selected:

Consider that you need to change the core binary of the sim module and also you want to download your application file "*.cla" simultaneously, then you have to go for this option...

If you are okay with the core binary file, then selecting NORMAL will do as you need to only download your application...

You can check what core file version is present in the SIM gsm module using ATI command.

Everytime you need not update the core file or binary...Once it is done remains same forever unless and until you want to change the core file or binary of the gsm module...

I am in the process of developing an app for SIM900B. I am using "SIM900DevIDE DTMF MultiTask GCC IDE(v1.08)". This IDE has "SIM900 Series download Tools Customer 1.7 tool". I want to flash the sim900-demo.cla file using this tool.

When DownloadOption "EmbeddedAT" is selected, the "Core File" field shows the path to file 1137B02V01SIM900M64_ST_DTMF_JD_EAT.cla, which is core binary file ; and the "App File" field shows the path to file sim900-demo.cla, which is a demo app file.

As I just want to download the demo app file, when I selected the DownloadOption "Normal", I see that the "Core File" field at the top with its file path, disappears but the "App File" field below it, changes to "Core File" with the path still pointing to app file sim900-demo.cla. What does the DownloadOption "Normal" expects in this case?.... still an app file(sim900-demo.cla) or the system core binary(1137B02V01SIM900M64_ST_DTMF_JD_EAT.cla) ? Please refer the image, "download-options.png", attached herewith. Kindly reply at your earliest.

Whatever you have posted is correct...

When "NORMAL" option is selected as told by you earlier, the "App File" display changes to "Core File"...but still the file mentioned in the path is to be the application.cla only not the core file...

Even though the display is only changed but you have to give the application.cla file path only when you have selected "NORMAL"..

This is a bug from simcom..No issues..its just a minor bug.
