poka yoke test coupon

Hai all,

I would like to know how to check the quality of boards during the manufacturing process? Such as short circuit or defect in copper pattern of traces.

Is there any poka-yoke method to prevent this defect during manufacturing process?

yoke+circuit

some PCB manufacturers firstly examine the CAMs of the PCB,
if there is something wrong or exceeds their manufacturing ability, they warn you,
for example, if a TSOP footprint's pads to close , they warn you and they changes pads , they make them thinner.

after the manucturing, E-test (shortcircuit etc.) is applied to PCBs , with special equipments. a few automated test probes check the connectivitiy of PCB, according to CAM file.
test probes touches every pads of PCB in order to check connectivities.

board test poka yoke

BBT- bare board test, ICT-incircuit testing,Bed of nails, flying probe test are some of the tests carried to ensure the opens, shorts and quality of your board.

There are some tests like MTFB - Mean Time Between Failure test carried out to ensure the reliability of the PCBs.

Test coupons are also used to ensure the impedance, hole dimension tolerances checking.

Thanks,
Nagaraj.
