Hi all!

We are looking for a low cost linux platform (PC is the best) EDA solution.
It have to run large layout design with pretty fast responds and can support linux OS very robust.
Could anybody recommand me the hardware list? More details hardware name or value will be very appreciated.
For example:
CUP: ...; Memory: ...; Vedio Card: ...; Power: ...;

Thanks a lot!

Could you read in chinese?I have writen a document about this topic.If you need it,i will email to you.

Hi Soway,

Sorry, I can't read Chinese. Could you just list me some potential solutions in detail? Thanks a lot!
I want to use RedHat AS or SUSE OS and run very big layout design.

Ok,if you use redhat,use AS4 update 7 should be ok.
Memory should be bigger.Use nvidia's card should be ok,the popular vedio card will be satisfied.

Your email address?

The OS should be 64bit version.
The AMD64 quad-core CPU is a good choice, if you can afford it.

You need video cards that support opengl, such as Quadro from nvidia or FireGL from ATI/AMD. Of course the newer ones are faster but more power hungry.
