Hi all,

Would you pls.kindly help to advise one suitable SMD VGA or adjustable attenuator used at 100MHz band, thanks.

I've got an urgent case which need to amplify and output 100MHz signal. The input power is about 0dBm, and the output power is 17~20dBm.I have ADL5536 in hand and it meets my former requirement, it's fixed gain block. But now,I need to adjust the output power from -10dBm to 17dBm or higher a little.

Based on my old solution, one adjustable attenuator from -10dB to 20dB is good enough.I've looked for it in ADI,MAXIM websites, but found none till now.

Would you please recommend one part for me? SMD RFIC is needed and the simpler the better, analog adjustable is must.Or, a new VGA suitable is preferred to in place of ADL5536.

thanks a lot.

Any adjustable even old fashion attenuator works at 100MHz.
But if you would use an IC,look at this company. They are best in this domain.

Please check "hittite.com" or "rfmd.com", they have a selection of VGAs and digital attenuators.
I used digital attenuators by Hittite and RFMD in many project and can recommend their products.
If you need a connectorized device, refer to "minicircuits.com", also very good attenuators, with serial or parallel control.

thank you, i haven't found it from Hittite,i'll try RFMD.

I need a analog attenuator not digital one.

Minicircuits offer an analog, voltage-controlled attenuator to use at > 100 MHz. There are many simple PIN diode attenuators you can build within an hour, only many need drivers with negative voltage output.
For a manual attenuator in a 50-Ohm line I used SMD 100-Ohm potentiometers, they are good up to ~3 GHz.
