Patterned Ground Shielding Layout

With reference to the attached Patterned Ground Shielding (PGS) topology:

1.Does the extended PGS Contact should be grounded in the layout?

2.The M1 strip which extends in ‘X’ shape and the M1 strip which goes to the PGS contact needs to be populated with contacts. Does this mean the polysilicon is connected to the strapped M1 strips?

3.Does the silicide block used being extended on the whole PGS topology?

Your kind assistance is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance
