Anyone want to share how they choose their FPGA and how important the following parameters are
Supplier (XLNX/ALTR/LSCC/ACTL/QUIK/ATML)
Density
Package
Proces Technology (90nm, .13µ, .16µ, .18, ...)
Volatile/non-volatile
Spec's
Price

For my design (high speed data aquisition), I prefer using a big CPLD (timing) and I need a FIFO to buffer the data, therefore, I'm looking at Lattice's XPLD. Straightforward architecture, predictable timing, ...
Maybe a FPGA would be better. Who will say ...

Thanks for your opinion

Xilinx are the best but do have lot of drawbacks compared to others. I tinnk altera is picking up but it may take quite sometime for them to overtake xilinx.

I am using spartan2 model of xilinx and i am very pleased of them. So i vote for Xilinx too

1. Design gate count
2. Clock number
3. speed
4. I/O
