Hii,
why can't i implement a gray counter using the same procedure to design a synchronous binary counter?? In all the papers they say that , convert from gray to bin. increment it and convert to gray .why like this??
can't i implement odd length gray code counters??wat about even length counters except power of 2 length. ???
Hi,
Gray code is different from the binary code. as binary code increases by one the gray code differs.
u take any book on digital fundamentals(Morris Mano or Tocci).
U will easily figure out the difference.
so build a counter add combinational logic to the outputs of the counter(xor gates)
to get gray code
or directly build a combinational logic to gaet a gray code for the input binary code..
See this paper about gray counter implementation, it does'nt do it you
claim! www.isibrno.cz/~ivovi/gray_counter.pdf
Which papers you are talking about??
Probably you are talking about async fifo papers!
