Hi everyone.

I have problem understanding hand coding. Could anyone explain how to apply hand coding and demonstrate hand coding using VHDL?

Hand coding means you write the VHDL yourself rather than letting a code generate create the VHDL.

Did you mean "Hand-coding" or "Hard-Coding"?
Both makes a lot difference!!!....
 

is hard-coding like when you have a difficult problem?
 

No no, Like when you do some DUTs or realtime debug, you might want to freeze\drive some values as a constant though be a signal. In such cases, we usually denote the term "Hard-coding". This term is common because it simply tells your team-mate or helps identify the builds, for eg "Vendor ID-hard-coded", etc.
