The 3914 has a pin for applying a reference voltage.
It has an adjustable regulated reference voltage built in from 1.25V to almost the supply voltage which is set with 2 resistors similar to an LM317 adjustable voltage regulator IC.

or make a list of MUST HAVE and NICE TO HAVE


  • A system has 5 force-inverse resistance sensors and 5 LED indicators to show input force levels using p/n ___ sensors from Mfg _____
  • The inputs are selected somehow? or combined with addition? maximum input is detected? (choose)
  • ...to show the range in which force is applied.
  • The forces range from ___ to ____ [N]
  • and may change full scale within ___ [ms].

LEDs show the (pick one)
a) Peak force , instant value
b) Absolute value of Peak Force around some neutral bias force
c) Average Force , using a ___ [ms] average time constant with vibrating force
d) Peak and decay value with __ [ms] attack time and ___ [ms]decay time
e) peak and hold time, where peak is held for __ [ms] then sample input again
.... if input increases with above time, the output increases instantly otherwise held for ease of viewing.


  • The output level may (or may not ) be linear and split into 6 ranges, off for the lowest level and 5 colours to indicate 5 thresholds adjustable by design with trimpots.
  • The output will be using standard 20mA LED indicators of colour wavelengths to represent the a) combined/b) selected/ c) highest ( you pick one) with force input thresholds of __, ___, ___,___,___, which represent Blue, Green, Yellow,Orange, Red colours with increasing force input.
  • The LEDs shall be like a bar graph display with successive number and colours active for increasing input.
  • ... or the LEDs shall sequence to individual outputs when within the defined threshold ranges, so that only one LED is on at a time.
  • ... or the Peak LED will be held for __ seconds while the instantaneous lower average levels will be moving.
  • Any suitable AC-DC power supply must be included using _ to __ range of AC.
  • Or __ Vdc @ __ mA max is available for power.
  • DC Power shall be limited to __ mW
  • Cost of components for prototypes should not exceed ___ $usd not including perf board or PCB board (TBD)
  • All parts may be THD or SMD ( choose) but must be common and readily available small > medium scale devices that require no programming. (decide)

Is there librarz which can give lm3914 in eagle. I have ssen some people has put eagle schemetic with LM3914. I am unable to find that. Can anzone help me to find that.

You do not need to simulate an LM3914. Simply connect it as the datasheet shows and it will work perfectly.
Or is this circuit school work and your teacher says it must be simulated?
