i prefer PCB WIZARD... till now i had develped more than 250 pcbs usng the same... so still u hav any prob with it , i wl clr it later....

what about eagle or Orcad or pads?

eagle is qut good....u can also go wth PROTEUS....

I have worked with Altium designer
It is very bulky and too much professional
If you don't intend industrial designs, do not use it
I'd recommend Proteus

ARES(Proteus) is a good tool to start with as it has good collection of pakages library. On the other hand ORCAD and Altium are professional tools

what about Eagle?

try PROTEUS ...... it s one of the bst s/w in ths series....

Top 3 proffesional Mentor, Cadstar, Allegro, plenty of basic packages, but for user help I would reccomend eagle, many experts on this site to help you.
