micrcontroller programming problem

I AM BUIDING A PROJECT PUBLISHED IN JULY 2003 IN ELEKTOR "REMOTE LIGHT CONTROLLED DIMMER" IN WHICH ATMEL "AT89C2051-12" WAS USED BUT, NOW I AM USING "AT89C2051-24" BUT WHENEVER I INSERT THE HEX FILE INTO "AT89C2051-24" , MY COMPUTER HANGS.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUS

What programmer do you using?

Please provide as much as details provide while asking a question. This will help to direct you in correct direction.

i dont think there should b any problem with 24 or 12 its the loader you are using that might be causing some problem plz add more to your question

may be it is because of your programmer.perhaps one shortcut in your circuit that cause computer hanging

guys now the microcontroller is programmed but its not funtionaning

Matlab itself may be crashed by something incompatible.
