Hi all,
I am new in the field of Board design. Currently I have been doing library developement(Allegro) , and I am facing a lot of problems while designing Footprints(LandPatterns) for the connectors. The only reason is that every 2nd connector is different.
Can anyone of you guys guide me by some documents or guidelines, how to go about it, and if someone could guide me to decode datasheets of connectors, then that will be a great help for me.

Best regards to all of you,
Niraj

hi,

for designing any package we must know its dimensions ,like
pitch-center to center spacing b/w 2 pads
drill hole size ,pad size etc...
if the recommended foot print is given in datasheet we can use that dimensions directly..
if it is not given .2 mm must be added to the given drill size.pad size must be atleast
24mils greater than the drill hole size.

after designing pad we can create package. In the package designing window,
we can give the spacing.quantity and no of pin in the options tab.

Then in the command window we can give the location where the pins are to be placed.

hopes this helps u
thanks
