hi

I was going through a document on an LVDS interface which says the serialization factor is 8:1 (or interface works at 8:1 serialization , it's a 16 channel LVDS). But I couldnt get what does it mean ?

Can someone explain its significance...

thnx a lot

Hi

The LVDS interface is used to carry high speed data on serial link and it's used for IC to IC connections .
On each IC the data is transfered from parallel to serial and then send serially on the bus and on the receiver side data is converted from serial to parallel.

What's meant by serialization Factor is how many data bits is send to the serializes at one to be translated .
In your case you should supply the serialize with 8 bits in parallel and it will send them in LVDS format for you.
