Digital receiver book?

Hi all,

I am a newbie to digital receiver(ATSC,DVB-T,etc).
I want to learn about synchronization, equalizer, demodulation, etc?

Is there exist a book talk about digital receiver tech?
Or shall I read a lot of books and do some simulation?

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

The following information was needed at first,basically :

1) digital Electronics
2) Mpeg algoriths
3) DVB
4) Cryptography
5) Analogue Electronic
6) Satellite comunication systems

You might want to look at Transceiver and System Design for Digital Communications by Scott R Bullock. It is good introduction but is oriented more to direct sequence spread spectrum. But all the basics on demod/mod syncronization etc are there.

You need to study:

1.MPEG2-TS SPEC
2.outer coding(reed-solomon code & decode)
3.outer interleaving
4.inner coding(convolution code& decode)
5.inner interleaving
6.QPSK & QAM modulation & demodulation
7.OFDM(include IFFT & FFT)
8.sync.

The synchronization, equalizer, demodulation are very broad research area. For different communication system, there are different methods. As a starter, you need focus on a speific system such as DVB-H, understand the basic concept and then begin to work a particular problem for the digital receiver.
