automotive

hi,
anyone experienced know so far what chips are mainly used for automotive solutions? freescale? any other providers?

Re: automotive

I have some Opel (GM) experience :
Infineon (16bit) for engine control units and body, ST for power driver (see also as uC in some display), Nec for instrumentation, TI for immobilizer, freescale also in some Engine ECU, Climate control, Airbag. Bosh itself build many interface custom chip (normally inglobate Power supply, diagnosis comunication, I/O driving)

In engine newer Ecu you can't see standard chip because is a very strange ibrid (on ceramic support) construction (if you want I can give you a photo)

regards
