Hi folks ..

I would like to invite everyone in this topic to add useful VHDL functions .. to reach a point in which we can have a huge number of useful VHDL functions that we can compile in one package and use whenever we need ..

Example of useful VHDL functions :
1. Reduction Functions
2. Conversion Functions (binaryToGray .. GrayToBinary .. etc)
3. Cordic Functions.
4. Logarithmic functions
5. Trignometric functions
6. Real Numbers based functions
7. Testing/Verfication functions
8. Random Number Generation functions.

The GNU VHDL Test Bench Package has a random number generation, a 32 bit LSFR that can be used/extracted from the package. As well a semi programmable script parser, is what the package is. Some of the procedures in the package I have used in various tasks with in a test bench. None of it is synthisizeable though.
