is $random synthesisable in QuartusII?

I tried to use $random () function in Quartus II but it says not synthesizeable. if not, how to generate this ? I am using DE1. Any help is appreciated. thanx in advance.
 

No, no synthesizer will synthesize that.
in verilog, anything starts with $ are simulator functions and can not be synthesized.
