Hi, all.

My data acquision board supports 5V and my chip works with 3.3V. I need to voltage change between two devices. What is the best way?

Should I buy some chips that do voltage change?

Any good ICs you guys can recommend?

Any comments are welcome.

Try IO buffer type chip, usually it's a small cell on the whole chip....

look for voltage level translation

or search edaboard

I'm curious.
A simple buffered voltage divider wouldn't do it?

To Alekxv:

it does work if you did not take into account the system power.

Hi ee484, Do you have the electrical interface specs of the two devices? It would show whether or not some simplified methods would work.

If your 3.3V connections are outputs and your 5V connections are inputs, then you may be able to connect them directly with no translators.

If the signals travel the other way, then you may be able to use simple series resistors to limit the current, or even connect them directly if the 3.3V inputs are 5V tolerant.

use cmos chip with req supply voltage.
ttl 5v
low voltage 3.3v
