hello, anyone . recently ,i am designing a igbt short circuit protection. but i meet with a problem. the driver i use is vla500-01 which is from isahaya (japan), and the module i use is cm1400du-24nf which is from mitsubishi. and my simplified test setup see attachment.
first, i charge the capacitors to 100v, and then open the switch, that is to say , the dc bus voltage is 50v;
second, i give a single pulse signal to the driver board which is used to drive the bottom IGBT;
but it seems that the driver board doesnt protect the igbt.
and the bus current can achieve to 800A. and my bottom igbt is broken. i wonder why? someone can help me.

Hi.
hope you have not forgotten to connect this part of scheme.

But anyway possible provide preliminary test of protection functioning without valuable IGBT module.

oh, thanks for ur remind. as to the desaturation diode, i have connected it to the igbt.
