i cant see gateway in my internet shared computer

i have cable net. i use nic card to connect between two computer to share internet.
i am able to share internet but my gateway is lost. though gatway i was able to connect and disconnect internet directly from my terminal but its not possible now.
please help me how do i find that gateway again.....
