looks like you have not defined a main() function

you appear to be using the mcc18 compiler which does not support the PIC16

try downloading XC8?

it looks like you have downloaded the old Hi-Tech PIC16 compiler which I did not know was available anymore

try the new XC8

if you do an web search for MPLAB tutorial you will find plenty of links
hawever you problem is with compiler not MPLAB

Please specify which MCU you are using and post your program for more help.

You are using HITEC C compiler lite version. I think it does not create hex file in lite mode. You have to activate its license for access to the PRO mode. It will provide full features only in PRO mode . ***** softwares are also available for it to activate it. Try after activating HITEC C.

MPLABX is advanced editor for PIC family, Use c18 compiler for PIC18f, use xc8 compiler for pic16f and lower family.
