how to speed up hspice

Pls tell me all the methods to speed up the hspice simulation?
Thank you

hspice speed up

1. choose the suitble step and accuracy;

2. save the operating point at your desired point, then begin with this point will spped up the simulation.

option speed spice

Adding a option fast can speed up the simulation.

Is it any trade-off to use option fast?

hspice .option bypass

Yes. It may lead to less accurate.

hspice option fast

Use .Measure to capture the data needed instead of plot everything

.option FAST can speed up your simulation, but it down the accuracy and it only can be use in TR simulation.
in DC or AC simulation you can add another options base on you work.
eg: DCON DVDT etc.

hspice .option fast

Can ".OPTION BYPASS=1" be used in HSpice?
Maybe it will bypasses the calculation of unchanging elements.

hspice .option fast=1

Try to decrease your simulation accuracy ( simulation step), or use the newset version of hspice. As I know, the version of 2004.9 will 2~3 times faster than the older versions.

Besides fast options, autostop can help you as well.
In addition, increase step for transient, AC,DC will help when too small is not necessary.
Of course employing multi-cpu and use multi-thread job can make simulation fast dramatically.

Re: hspice speed up

Hi Could you please explain detail

how to reload the saved opearting point in Hspice.

Thanks !
