Setting delta S is very important in designing some passive componets using HFSS.
i wanna know how to set it in a detail design and what I should consider in the design ? for example , designing a microstrip filter or a waveguide filter.
thanks !

hakunamatata shalom,

Delta S is important but not the most important. You can easily check convergence and see how much each adaptation changes the error and decide for yourself which accuracy you need.

Remember that some narrow bandwidth filters require a change in the default initial mesh settings. Lowpass filters require adaptation in a lower frequency (and not the recommended highest frequency). So, if you cannot "see" the filter shape in the fast frequency sweep, it means the problem is not in the Delta-S but in other parameters.

Regards,
Itai
