How to make a simple tracking device?

Has anybody got a scheme how to make a tracking device?
I need just a fairly simple tracking device not a GPS one
emm... i'd say 100 - 200 meters will do...

Hi Panterex,

Maybe you need something like a Foxhunter system, you can use a simple TX and RX of house or car alarms. There are a lot of ideas on google.

But finaly, after hours and hours or researching i did find what i want!

one method is you can have omnidirectional transmitter on the object u wanna track...
and for tracking.. purpose you can use a loop antenna.. or any other directional antenna on a rotation platform... which will lock on max signal..

I am happy that you found what you wanted.
When I assembled my system to locate airmodels, I also expended a lot hours on research until find exactly what I needed, there are a lot of good ideas to analyse.

you can use rfid technology.there are a lot if online sources for it.

omini directional antenna is basically any directional tranmitiiting or receving antenna.small radio antenna,police mens walkie talkie.

regarding ur main question,try to build small tx.there are lot of circuits diagrams in web.you can get help from wikihow.com .you cant get any pleasure or fun from than ur own one.so try to buil on your own.

all this sh*t is quite bulky....
probably everyone wonderin' whatta hell his's goin' to track? well, I'll tell u the secret : cats :idea:
yeah, I've 3 cats, one of them is exwild and my cats hangin' with other stray cats. I feed 'em as well, but they just keep going missing for a few days, sometimes, together with my cats... so I just wonder were they go, what they do...
So I'm affraid if I use those big & bulky hand made ones it'll make cats feel uncomfortable to run, jump or whatever...
Maybe, there is a reason just to buy one? huh?
