when I designed some circuit, sometimes I need high frequecy clock signal.

yes. function generator did. but high frequency and High resoultion function
generator is not cheap. It is not possible to buy very expensive function generator.

How do you deal with this problem? Do you have any good solution or experience?

thanks

What kind of circuit do u need the high frequency clock for??

If frequency you are after is below 20MHz you may consider the MAX038 generator .. see picture below ..

Is there anyone who have any other solution?

I need much more high frequecny clock signal generator, like 300Mhz

Hi
As MSSN asked, What kind of circuit do you need the high frequency clock for?

You can't say only “300Mhz”.

At less, you need to know the following characteristics:

Jitter
Output Level
Duty Cycle
Tolerance (%)
Output Power
Max Consumption

Usually for this frequencies, you can use a based crystal oscillator (reference), VCO (oscillator), Comparator and a divider (prescaler). That is PLL.

Don’t forget the temperature range, it is very important. (Temperature compensated)

Pont de Pedra, you are right

my question is thoughtless

IanP:

The MAX038 was a good chip, but it is being discontinued
