hello,now i am doing a T type power divider(4 way),but i can not draw the microstrip line.Somebody can help me?Thnx

If I understand your need, you would better get the 4-way splitter in two stages: a 2-way splitter whose branches are split again with 2-way splitters.

thank you for your help! now i undersyand, but i don't know how to calculate the length of the branch.

Hi Tomsin,

You must calculate lengths and widths of the microstrip parts in order to obtain matching.
There are 2 parts:
1) design of the parts: electrical length (for example one quarter wavelength) and characteristic impedances
2) design of the microstrips: physical lengh and width

ok.thank u!i know what you said, but some details are not clear!tomrrow i will search the website to know more.by the way,i am a Chinese,my English is not well,so i can not express my question clearly, but i believe i can learn more from here.thanks for your help again.

Hi Zorro,

I want to know following

1) Lengths MBend or MTee in ADS are included in microstrip length or not ?

2) If we want bend a straight Microstrip line into ''U'' shape structure then how to find Mcurve lengths

hi,kuhnny,
let me have a try to answer your question.
1) the microstip length include length MBEND,but the length of the MTEE is zero,it is only a joint.
2) the equation L=θ*r,where the r is the radius and the θ is the radian of the Mcurve.for example,if r=3mm and the angle is 90º,then L=3*π/2=3*3.14/2=4.71.Good luck to u!

Here you can find how to do the connections and the equations for line impedance and resistor values, for a 4 ports Wilkinson divider.

hi,vfone
thanx for your help, can you give me some examples without the resistor R,because my design don't use the R!
