How to design a counter from 15 to 63?

hi

iam ravi.i have douts in design of counters.that is design a counter to count
from 15 to 63 like this.how to do i have tried this ,i design it as to count from zero to 63 then after 63 i have loaded 15 to it.is it correct.is there any good method to solve this type of problems

ya u r right..but ur circuit size will decrease if u take 1 -14 as don't cares..

derive the code..using the truth table...15 next state= 16, 16 next state =17.. so on.
consider unused no.s as don't cares..


use some s/w to do this..it takes hell a lot of time to do manually..
