hi!
I am using p-cad 2002 .I have created pcb file (*.pcb)in P-cad 2002.Now i want to export my design to P-cad 2001 version using *.pdf format.
But i face some errors with the above conversion.
P-cad 2001 is asking for p-cad cross reference file.
Plz help me in this regard and explain me about cross reference file aso

Regards,
Prithivi

Have you tried saving the file in Pcad ASCII format and then opening it in Pcad2001.?
I t works for some PCB files.

Hi
I've tried the suggested method and it didn't work out.

Did you find how to do it?

It took me just a few minutes to do it manually in Textpad. I may be
able to write a macro to run in Textpad to make it even easier, someday.

how to convert pcad 2002 ASCII file into PCAD2001...

---------------------------------

change lines to read:
---------------------------------

/viaThermalType/d
/viaThermalWidth/d
/viaThermalSpokes/d
/autoPlowCopperPours/d
/thermal /d
/odbSettings/,/^[ ]*)/d

--------------------------
!!ALSO!!: "netColor" But don't delete the whole line, just the end part.
Example:
(net "GND" (isVisible False) (netColor "400080")
Becomes:
(net "GND" (isVisible False)

In any case, I brought my PCAD2002 asci database into Textpad, then
searched for "viaThermalType" and deleted each whole line with it in.
There were 8 instances corresponding with the 8 copper pours in my XXX
board. I did the same for "viaThermalWidth" , "viaThermalSpokes", and
"autoPlowCopperPours". I couldn't figure out the "thermal " so I
ignored it for now.
The last thing is to delete the odbSettings, etc.
That's it, it worked.

This might explain why I was getting limited success before. Some
boards don't have copper pours so maybe just deleting the odb stuff
would do it. Did it work for what you sent them today?
