How do I controll turn on/off a 12V feed with a 0 and 5V sig

I have some basic knowledge about electronics. But I'm in need of more. I have a PIC12F675 that outputs 0V for low, and 5V for high signal. I need to control some kind of switch or something with that to turn on or turn off a 12V fan. Just need two cases. 0V output from PIC = 0V for the fan. 5V output from PIC = 12V to the fan. How can I do this?
I'm going to use it for a fancontroller.

looks like a relay switch is needed, there qre sinlge or multiple switch relays, where you may find applicable one, just remember to put a diode in paralle to the control loop to absorb the glitches during switching.

Maybe you can also use Solid Switch Relay(SSR) to achieve your requirement.

Hi,

Use a transistor to drive a relay.
Use the relay with appropriate current ratings.
and use diode in reverse across relay(supply and collector of the transistor).

I think it will work
