Hi guys, I need to convert a sine wave to square wave, sine wave is running at about 1.5 GHz, so I had an idea of using comparator, but im afraid that most of the conventional op-amps cant support my speed requirement.
Depending on your voltage level and output impedance, you could perhaps use an ECL comparator or this one, or may be a simple MUX. All of them work typically up to 1.5GHz.
See this page for even more choices.
Actually i have done it before @2.4GHz.
A simple comparator (positive feedback) can work. Remember to increase the current so that it can support high speed requirement!
Thanks guys! tc1220, but some other people are saying the storage time will be problem if im going to use a comparator. Cause I thought of using a schmitt trigger. Please advice. Cheers!
