I have tried to follow the help files on drawing a helix but to no avail I am not able to do this, sorry for the basic question, it would help if anyone has an example file for a generic helical antenna, I just want to know how to do this using HFSSv 9.0 or above.

helical must circle a line, you can creat a rectangle and use the x-axis.

I have drawn a helix in HFSS9.2,firstly,u can draw a round, select the face ,then select the choice:sweep along helix in the menu, input the Parameters you need.
Hope I have helped you

Hey,

To reduce simulation time considerably select the helix and apply a "surface approximation mesh operation". Set the angle to 45deg (or even 90deg) and the surface deviation to the helix radius/4.
