[Help] Impedance Formula Using Step Response

Hi,

I got this formula that I need some explanation:

Z=Z0*(1-stepResp)/(1+stepResp)

stepReps = TDR Step Response
TDR = Time Domain Reflectometry


Any paper/application note and others related infor is very much appreciated.
