I have just installed IC50 on redhat8, everything seems to be OK, except this problem,
In the stimulus option window, I can't select files in the list box by double clicking any files. every time I click a object, nothing happened. So I have to type the path&file name manually.
what caused this happen, did I do something wrong?
this is the snapshot:

I had the same problem in Makderake,

Hello,

i had some strange problems with ic5 under suse8.2 (total crash when executing spectre simulation).
but someday i logged in as root and started ic5 and everything was ok, so it was a problem of data access rights. maybe you have the the same problem. Try to logg in as root.

greetings,

Hi,
Below is the recommended OS patches for Linux by cadence customer support, but anyway i don think it is an OS problem.

I have tried to log in as root , but it's no use.

Although you can install some OS package to fix this problem , i still recommend you not use it on the version newer than Redhat 7.3 . Most of the EDA can be runs well on Redhat 7.X and most of EDA provider only gurante on that .

Try to this:
"unsetenv LANG"
This will set the LANG to default (English).

Then try the IC5.0 again.

what's the corresponding command in Linux for "unsetenv LANG"

no what is happening is that part of the openwindows server chooses a font of size 0, so it has nothing to put there, and nowhere to put it. check to see if you get hundreds of warnings every time you click and "nothing happens".

read up on some old posts i made - the only info i could get is because netscape does the same thing, which kind of made a whole version of netscape usesless on these openwindows drivers.

sure-fire fix... send RH8 back to hell where it came from, get SuSe 8.2 or RH7.3.. No just kidding about RH8, seems Cadence should have rebuilt to avoid the mistake like Netscape did..

It's working! I can't believe that!
I just add "unset LANG" in .bashrc, then everything is OK!
