GSM SIM300 connection to MSP430

I'm using GSM SIM300 for my project to send message. I bought this from local shop. I connected this to my system's serial port. I successfully send the message through hyper terminal. Now, I'm trying to connect GSM modem to msp430G2553. But, I'm getting ÿ sign on the serial monitor in Energia IDE. I used TTL converter, but also I got the same result.
Is this problem occurs from MAX232 IC present in the modem? Can anybody help me to solve this problem?

you may be require MAX3232 to interface
Check your msp430G2553 serial port settings.
Connect to PC use any terminal program to view the commands which sending from msp430G2553 is ok
