Hello everyone ..
I have a glucometer with a usb interface, i want to interface it with the Microcontroller so that i can see its reading on the LCD.. I bought a usb-to-serial cable but i found it will not be useful. Now, my question is that if i use PIC18F (its USB protocol) and if i read glucomete's data, would the get read correctly?? I mean, is my approach right?
Thankyou in advance ..

I would assume that the glucometer is a USB device which connects to a USB host (such as a PC).
the PIC18 does not support USB host so you would have to go to a PIC24, dsPIC or PIC32
**broken link removed**

also do you know the USB protocol that the glucometer uses? i.e. the format of the data it transmits, etc. If not how would you be able to write the correct host protocol to receive data and extract the reults

Well, i didnt know about USB host, that was a confusion ..
And, unfortunately, i don't have information regarding USB protocol of the glucometer .. I don't find any datasheet regarding the glucometer .. :(
