Generating a clock signal from an incoming serial data

Hi,
I need a idea to generate a clock signal from an incoming serial data.
Is there any reference explaning the principe of recovery and/or a vhdl source code of such module ?

Hi
u can see the serial ports of microcontroller for example download ATMEGA8 datasheet and check its usart port architecture.

search in google for atmega8 datasheet. and download it. be careful not to download the priliminary datasheet. download the full datasheet.its about 300 pages.
