Hello guys. I have a question. I have a project for my last semester. A part of this project is to build an inverter. The problem is that i don't know what gate drivers should i use for IRG4PH50UD IGBTs. Do you have any suggestions? Can you help me please.?
From what I can see there's nothing special about those particular IGBTs that requires special gate drive considerations. The most typical method is to use bootstrapping gate drive ICs like the IR2110 or the many similar ICs out there.
That's the basic idea. But you might want something with higher output current capability, and rated up to 1200V, if you need to drive at voltages >600V.
The inverter that I'm going to built will be supplied 320VDC. For load I will use a resistor, and has to create a current reference (Iref). That's it. So I don't need to drive voltages> 600. So will this drive suits me?
