mur abc

can someone explain to me the algorithm for the PEC and MUR absorbing boundary condition? an example or explanation in 1-D would be great.

Try "Computational electrodynamics" by Taflove. But basicly MUR/abc is a cvirtual material, that absorbs waves, unfortunately it can absorb waves of some strict polarization. If you need some boundaries that absorb waves of any polarization, than you should refer to UMPL/PML.

Best wishes.

fdtd pec

You can implement a PEC boundary in FDTD by simply enforcing the condition E(tan)= -E(scat). This can be done by defining the FDTD points of the tangantial Electric components on the PEC by zero. But this case is for a grounded PEC.
